Always on the go....

It seems as though I like to fill every possible minute of my life, keeping me very busy...Just as my show was about to open last month, I remember saying how nice it was going to be to just relax for a while. However, the week before my show opened I began a job at a medical office nearby. Now it's just part-time, supposed to be 20 hours a week, though it's been 26 hours each week so far. I'm working in the front office, doing consultations, and soon will be taking over the billing (definitely my forte.) So, yes the extra money is nice, but the benefits of working there are, well, FANTASTIC! We have an in-office aesthetician, who gives us free facials, microdermabrasions, and the best FOTOFACIALS. If you haven't heard of Fotofacials, click the link to learn about it, very cool! Supposedly I won't have too many freckles left once I finish my treatments (which I'm starting Monday) but don't worry, there will be some lingering I'm sure. Also there are a couple of people on staff that are licensed in Laser Hair removal, which I started last week. It will be soooo nice not to shave anymore! Of course it takes like a year for all of the treatments, but it's so worth the time, and it's FREE! And then yes, there are other benefits that I will not disclose at this time, call if you have questions.... :)

So, I can somewhat relate to Todd's experiences in his surgical rotations. Let me start by saying that I am incredibly sensitive to other people's pain, and blood! In order to do consultations for our prospective surgery patients, I have to watch all of the surgeries that the Dr. performs. I thought I would faint, puke, or quit the job on the spot. But I held out, and have grown accustomed to the smell of burnt flesh. Now I don't know the right words to use for all of this, so please excuse incorrect medical verbiage. Actually, I really enjoy watching the surgeries. It's amazing how the Dr molds, sculpts, and envisions such pieces of art--which is what the patients bodies have become in my mind. My favorite surgery to watch thus far is a tummy tuck. (Yes, he's a cosmetic surgeon) I can't put into words how or why this is so fascinating, it's just incredible. I highly recommend finding a surgery channel, and watching this procedure. My other favorite is a facelift, wow what a difference it makes in someone's appearance. I know a lot of you think that your body should be left alone, that it's beautiful the way it is. But to me, if it makes you feel better about yourself, gives you confidence you no longer have or never had, I say go for it.

So, basically the job is great, and it is such a laid back environment. I am working a lot though, combining those hours with teaching voice lessons, and I'm still a rep for Juice Plus(a couple hours a week anyway). Brian has really picked up the slack at home. Between all of my rehearsals, and now working, he has really been a great help around the house and with the kids. If for nothing else, I think that me working has helped us to have a better appreciation for what the other contributes and needs.

I know my posting has been pretty bleak for the last bit, and probably will continue to be for at least the next month, but hang in there, don't give up on me....
