Addison Grace Campa

It took us a few days to make a decision on her name, but Brian knew it all along...

ADDISON GRACE

I decided to go with a c-section, having had one before, and not wanting to get too close to Christmas with her birthday. It was really nice to know that we were going in, got straight to it, and then she was here! A friend of mine gave me my epidural and worked some magic to get my mom into the O.R. for the surgery, only Brian was supposed to be able to get in. It was great to have both of them there.

Every day Chloe and Cassie came to the hospital before and after school, wanting to spend as much time with us as possible. (Fortunately the hospital is less than half a mile away) Brian was a trooper sleeping on that tiny couch and changing diapers left and right! Becca and my mom spent lots of time visiting and bringing me yummy food. Addison and I had many visitors while we were in the hospital, thank you all for your love and support.

I'm so grateful that my mom and Becca have been here with me this last week and a half, and thanks to your families for their sacrifices as well. Becca was a super helper with my TO-DO-LIST, and really made sure that my household ran as I would have run it. And if it wasn't for my mom's support, I think I would have definitely given up on nursing. Thank you both so much for being here and holding my hand through the tears and pain, and everything else you did! My sister Erin also came up for a few days, and cooked and cleaned more than I've ever seen from her before!

Chloe and Cassie are totally loving having a baby in the house. They are always wanting to hold her and have been practicing changing her diaper and getting her in and out of her carseat and bouncer. Even our dog Raffi has acclimated to having her around. Brian has been super dad these past few weeks, especially since my "retirement" as mother of the house. He is very comfortable with Addi, and seems to enjoy changing diapers!!!

My body seems to be recovering pretty well from the surgery, the most painful part of the whole thing has definitely been the nursing. And while it's nice that Addi often sleeps 4 hours at a time, and last night through the whole night, it tends to cause a bit more pain when it comes time to feed...

I look forward to being back up to speed so that I can spend more time playing with Chloe and Cassie, and less time sleeping. They are very understanding and great little helpers. I don't know how anyone has a baby with a toddler around, that must be so hard.

The slideshow below has some more pics from the hospital, and several post-hospital pics.
